& Lineage

Ravshiva’s teaching is grounded in formal study and certification with established teachers and traditions.

Ayurveda through Dr. Naina Marballi; traditional yoga and yoga therapy through Yogiraj Tonmoy Shome; Thai Yoga Therapy and assisted movement through Peter Kaaberbøl Kristensen. Together with years of practice and teaching, these traditions form part of the foundation of AYT.

Discipline-level certification descriptions are confirmed by Ravshiva. Exact official certificate titles and details will be added after review of his original certificates.

Yogiraj Tonmoy is an important guru, mentor and longtime friend. His visits and stays with Ravshiva have included extensive discussion and study of yoga, philosophy, spirituality, healing and life.

This formal training and continuing personal relationship helped shape Ravshiva’s approach to traditional yoga, spiritual practice and the integrated foundation he shares through AYT.

THE PERSONAL ORIGIN OF AYT

Knowledge that
had to become practice.

Formal training. Certification. Decades of practice.
And a life that called upon all of it.

For Ravshiva, the meaning of practice became deeply personal through adversity. Surviving a heart attack, undergoing cervical spinal fusion from C4 through C7, and working through significant injuries brought periods of pain, physical limitation and rehabilitation. Living with PTSD and depression added challenges that were not always visible.

These experiences changed the context of everything he had learned. Breathing, meditation, yoga and awareness became tools he relied upon to help regulate himself, remain focused, meet fear and pain, and continue moving forward—alongside the medical care and other support he received.

Ravshiva describes these practices as profoundly important to how he navigated those periods. His story is one of lived application, not a claim that a practice cured a condition or replaced treatment.

He has had to practice what he teaches.

FROM INTEGRATIVE BIOENHANCEMENT TO ALLOW YOGA THERAPY

Experience deepened the meaning of the training.

Through his own life, Ravshiva came to understand why a single technique or rigid system may not meet every person or circumstance. His formal training and certification in yoga / yoga therapy, Thai Yoga Therapy and Ayurvedic practices met years of personal application and continued learning.

Asana, pranayama, meditation, assisted movement, Kundalini practices, mantra, kirtan and energetic awareness became interconnected parts of that exploration. This integration contributed to the development of Integrative Bioenhancement and subsequently Allow Yoga Therapy.

AYT grew from that meeting of knowledge and experience: a grounded, adaptable foundation that students can begin to understand through their own practice.

WHY IT IS CALLED “ALLOW”

Foundations to begin.
Space to find your way.

“I give you the foundations. I give you what experience has taught me. But ultimately, your practice has to become your own.”

— Ravshiva

AYT offers knowledge, foundations, experience and guidance. Students are encouraged to explore responsibly, with continued practice and learning, and to discover the methods and combinations that resonate with them.

Ravshiva’s role is to support that process. Each student brings a different history, capacity and perspective; the aim is an authentic practice of their own.

Foundational principles, appropriate limits and completion requirements remain part of that freedom to learn.

WHY ALLOW YOGA THERAPY

Many traditions.
A connected practice.

AYT grew from decades of personal practice, study and experience across complementary traditions.

A longtime practitioner, teacher and founder, Ravshiva draws from traditional yoga, meditation, breathwork, Ayurveda, Thai Yoga Therapy and integrative wellness practices. Allow Yoga Therapy brings these influences into a welcoming educational setting.

His intention is to help students build a foundation they can understand, return to and develop over time. The emphasis is on learning through practice: noticing the relationship between movement and breath, making space for meditation, and approaching traditional disciplines with care and curiosity.

That is the starting point for AYT Level 1—a beginning that makes room for the whole practice.

His broader background also spans education, entrepreneurship and technology. He is currently completing an M.S. in Cybersecurity at Empire State University (SUNY), expected in 2026—a separate area of study alongside his work in wellness education.

IN RAVSHIVA’S WORDS

“The Soul is Essentially
Seeking Itself.”

— Ravshiva

MOVING THROUGH THE BREATH

For Ravshiva, breath is a way of bringing attention back to experience. His philosophy of moving through the breath invites students to notice what changes when movement and awareness find a shared rhythm.

It is an invitation to practice sincerely and consistently, with less pressure to perform and more space to observe.

THE FOUNDATION HE WANTS TO SHARE

Practice for yourself.
Learn to guide others.

Ravshiva developed AYT Level 1 to introduce beginners to yoga as an integrated discipline. His formal training, certifications and lived experience inform a curriculum that brings physical practice, breath, awareness and contemplative study together.

Asana, pranayama and meditation are joined by introductory assists, Kundalini concepts, mantra, kirtan and energetic awareness. Students develop personal practice alongside foundational teaching skills, with multiple elements woven into each weekend.

The learning journey connects movement, breath, awareness, meditation, assisted practice, traditional disciplines and personal exploration. The objective is a foundation for continued learning and an authentic path of your own. Skills and understanding develop through practice, discussion and successful completion of the required components.

A FOUNDATION FOR SOMETHING OF YOUR OWN

Share your practice

Learn the practice—and the foundations of building a practice.

Ravshiva also wants students to understand practical ways of beginning an independent offering as their skills develop. Level 1 introduces practitioner identity, clear communication, basic marketing and ways of connecting with students and wellness communities.

These are starting points for exploring private instruction, classes, workshops, or appropriate home-based and online offerings. They are educational tools, not promises of employment or income.
